About
My name is Anna Caiata (*1994), and I’m an illustrator based in Basel, Switzerland. I was born and raised in Ticino and later moved to central Switzerland to study. After graduating in Illustration Nonfiction at HSLU, I continued with a master’s degree in Basel. I collaborate on projects across Switzerland and welcome opportunities abroad.
My work draws inspiration from the people I meet, the places I visit, and my personal experiences. Using humor and self-irony, I reflect on imperfect realities and transform them into playful stories.
As a Ticinese with Italian roots living in Basel, I have always been fascinated by travel, languages and cultural exchange. This curiosity also shapes my work, reflecting a continuous search for connection and belonging.
What I do
Illustration & Comics:
Custom illustrations, comics, stickers, Christmas cards, window decorations, wedding invitations, flyers, posters, editorial illustration, social media visuals, and presentations.
Animation:
2D animation, direction, cleanup, coloring, storyboards, character design, GIFs, motion graphics, explainer videos, title sequences, and short films.
Murals:
Indoor and outdoor. I adapt the client’s vision to my style. I create site-specific wall paintings, decorative lettering, and illustrated concepts for both private and public spaces. Contact me to receive a non-binding offer.
Scientific illustration:
